Prime Video has confirmed that Gabriel Basso will star in Love of Your Life, playing Charlie opposite Margaret Qualley’s Maya.
Directed by Rachel Morrison and written by Julia Cox, Love of Your Life is a romance drama with clear prestige ambitions. Maya’s life gets knocked off course after a chance encounter with Charlie, and the relationship that follows is the kind that forces her to reconsider who she is, what she wants, and whether she’s ready to let herself love again. For Basso, it’s a pretty sharp turn away from the bruised, battered Peter Sutherland he plays in The Night Agent.
One timeline detail matters here. Love of Your Life is now part of Basso’s lineup, but his first major confirmed project after The Night Agent was Clint Eastwood’s Juror #2, where he played murder-trial defendant James Michael Sythe alongside Nicholas Hoult, Toni Collette, J.K. Simmons, and Kiefer Sutherland.
Juror #2 premiered at AFI Fest on October 27, 2024, then opened in the U.S. on November 1, 2024.
If you’ve been keeping up with Gabriel Basso since The Night Agent, this one feels like something to watch, especially with Trigger Warning, The Strangers Chapter 1 and Chapter 2, and The Night Agent season 3 in Istanbul all in the mix.
