This is how it is: trying to figure out if a garment will fit you well or not remains a mystery that we must face if we want to buy clothes online. Despite the fact that brands are becoming clearer with their sizes and measurements, purchasing any garment online is still a leap of faith that, for many, is difficult to ignore. In view of this, Google proposes a solution: use AI.
According to Wired, the company announced last Tuesday that it has already started rolling out a new feature that would help solve this problem with artificial intelligence. Its operation is simple: imagine that we want to buy a summer top. When we make our query on Google, we will see a new type of ads that include galleries. If you select one of them, you will be able to see the garment on people with different skin tones and body types.

Thus, brands that advertise men’s or women’s tops will be able to show customers how these look on more diverse models. The goal is for anyone to see firsthand how a garment would look on someone similar to them.
This feature uses artificial intelligence to combine the product image with existing photos of models. It is also one of the first examples of how Google intends to use generative AI for online advertising.
