GPT-4o has even changed the life of OpenAI’s own CEO

GPT-4o, the latest artificial intelligence model from OpenAI, has made a big impact in just one week since its launch. Sam Altman, CEO of the company, revealed on The Logan Bartlett Show podcast how he has integrated this innovative model into his daily routine, capable of offering real-time translations and answering questions based on the physical environment.

In the interview, Altman commented that he places his phone on the table while he works, which allows him to use GPT-4o as an additional channel without interrupting his workflow. “Asking and getting an instant response without changing what I was looking at on the computer has been surprisingly cool,” Altman noted.

Since taking over as the director of OpenAI in 2019, Altman has become a prominent figure in the technology industry, something that has even affected his personal life. During the podcast, he shared that the notoriety has impacted his privacy in San Francisco, to the point where he can’t have dinner in public without being recognized. “It’s a strangely isolated way of living,” Altman said, referring to the limitations he faces due to his fame.

Altman also recalled a difficult episode in his career: his brief dismissal from OpenAI last year, and described that stage as a “adrenaline-charged state” until he was reinstated as CEO. This experience, although brief, left a significant mark on his professional life, highlighting the challenges and intensity of leading one of the most influential companies in the technology industry.
