The developer Arrowhead has released a free commemorative cape in Helldivers 2 to celebrate the defense of Super Earth against the invasion of the evil Illuminate. This cape, which will be available for active players from May 13 to June 2, symbolizes the unconditional gratitude of the citizens towards the Helldivers who have made countless sacrifices in the war. The cape stands out for its sleek design, featuring the silhouette of Super Earth in white, adorned with a golden skeleton and golden details.
A war that still continues and not without tragic results
However, the war is not over. Arrowhead has introduced a new Major Order that focuses on the recovery of cities that have been transformed into totalitarian strongholds by the Illuminate. The missions under this new order involve rescuing civilians and destroying the infrastructure that could turn more citizens into “voting zombies”. The narrative suggests that these cities have not only been occupied but have been insidiously reconfigured by the enemy.
Additionally, the patch notes reveal significant changes that will impact gameplay. The Leviathans, fearsome enemies, now have a reduced line of sight and alert players with a spotlight when they are about to attack, which will decrease the number of unexpected deaths. On the other hand, the Mega Shrieker nests have received a health increase, so players will need to be prepared with heavy weaponry when exploring bug-infested planets. A previously reported bug related to the Laser Guard Dog has been fixed, meaning it will now remain active unless it takes damage.
The news in Helldivers 2 not only enrich the gaming experience, but also strengthen the sense of community among players, who prepare to face new challenges while celebrating their achievements in the battle against the Illuminate.
