Cold War thriller Honey, a six-part drama that launched at MIPCOM Cannes on October 12, 2026, has landed its first international buyers. Stan picked up Australia, Sky New Zealand took New Zealand, OSN+ bought for the Middle East and North Africa, and Hot came on board in Israel. Fifth Season is handling sales worldwide.
The show premiered that same day as a market launch, and those first agreements give Honey an early commercial boost while Fifth Season continues shopping it across North America, much of Europe, and Asia.
Made for BBC iPlayer and BBC One alongside Germany’s ZDF, the series takes place in East Berlin in 1982. At the center is Martha, a 24-year-old MI6 agent caught up in counterespionage and a love triangle involving a CIA operative and a Stasi spymaster. Writer Emma Moran has described the pitch as romance colliding with spy drama, shot through with dark comedy, emotion, and Cold War paranoia.
If you keep up with prestige spy series, this one has a lot going for it. Ann Skelly, Nate Mann, Jannis Niewöhner, and Rory Kinnear lead the cast. It comes from Killing Eve producer Sid Gentle Films. And while Martha has ties to the larger Carolyn Martens universe, the creative team says Honeyisn’t a direct prequel.
In the UK, Honey will air on BBC iPlayer and BBC One. Outside the UK, it’ll roll out first on the platforms tied to those newly announced buyers.
