PlayStation celebrates its 30th anniversary. Far from experiencing the dreaded 30s crisis, it celebrates this milestone with a series of releases that have excited the brand’s followers. In December of last year, the company launched several commemorative themes for the PS5, representing the iconic consoles of its history, including PS1, PS2, PS3, and PS4. However, these themes will no longer be available after January 31, although PlayStation has promised they will return in the future due to the overwhelming positive response from players.
The longing of all nostalgic gamers
In a statement on Twitter, PlayStation thanked fans for the reception of these temporary themes and assured that they are working on their return. Despite the demand, the company clarified that there are no plans to develop more additional themes for the PS5, which has left some players disappointed. Currently, PS5 owners can only use the 30th anniversary theme set and cannot apply other custom designs, limiting them to customizing the Welcome Hub as the only option.
Additionally, PlayStation is making significant changes in its approach towards PC players. The company has decided to remove the requirement for a PlayStation Network (PSN) account for certain games on its PC platform, which could make access easier for a broader audience. In another relevant aspect, PlayStation is expected to have a new CEO starting April 1, generating anticipation about the direction the company will take in the future.

With the hearts of many players focused on the nostalgia of past generation consoles and the new changes in the policy of access to their games, PlayStation continues to demonstrate its commitment to the community and its adaptation in a constantly evolving market.
