With Apple’s WWDC 2025 just around the corner, iOS 26 is set to be unveiled this Monday, bringing one of the most transformative updates in recent memory. From a complete redesign to new AI-powered tools, Apple is preparing a major shift in how we use the iPhone.
A unified design across platforms
Apple is reportedly introducing a completely new interface based on visionOS, marking the biggest design overhaul since iOS 7. Icons, menus, buttons, and even system windows will follow this new visual language, aimed at simplifying navigation and modernizing the look of iOS.
Smarter features through Apple Intelligence
iOS 26 will expand on Apple Intelligence by optimizing battery life using AI to manage power-hungry apps based on usage patterns. The update is also expected to refine Siri by merging its legacy and advanced systems, resulting in faster and more consistent voice responses, although the fully conversational version may be delayed.
Revamped apps and CarPlay experience
A redesigned Camera app inspired by visionOS will streamline controls and introduce a cleaner, more transparent interface. Messages will support inline translation and group polls, while CarPlay will also adopt the refreshed design aesthetic of iOS 26.
Compatibility and staged features
There’s uncertainty around supported devices: while some sources claim the iPhone XR and newer will be included, others suggest the XR, XS, and XS Max may be dropped. Additionally, many features promised for iOS 18—and now rescheduled for iOS 26—could arrive in later updates like 26.1 or 26.2.
iOS 26 is expected to be released to developers immediately after WWDC, with a public beta in July and a general launch in September.
