We are at that time of the year when rumors of the new iPhone 15 are incessant. Many simply give us more information on what to expect this fall, others surprise us by breaking various records.
This is the case of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which will have the thinnest frames ever seen on an iPhone. As we know, it will have the thinnest frames of any phone, beating the record currently held by the Xiaomi 13. A milestone that will make this iPhone (practically) all screen.
All screen, almost like an Apple Watch
We already expected the bezels of the new iPhones to be reduced, but surely not that much. Thus, the information tweeted by the leaker known as “Ice Universe”, has surprised us. Until now we expected that both iPhone 15 Pro models would have the frames thinner and, above all, curved, compared to the iPhone 14 Pro, which could translate into an appearance similar to that of the Apple Watch.
Now, but, if the leaker is right, the larger 6.7-inch model will have a border of the slightest. In a tweet, Ice Universe claims that the iPhone 15 Pro Max will “break the record” for 1.81mm bezels held by the Xiaomi 13, and that Apple’s model will have an edge width of just 1.55mm.
In the same tweet we are reminded, for comparison, that the bezels on the iPhone 14 Pro are 2.17 mm and on the Samsung Galaxy Ultra S23 are 1.95 mm. If we add to this the slight curvature that, on a visual level, will extend the screen somewhat beyond its limits, we are looking at a change that will undoubtedly jump out at you.
Here the unknown that remains is how all this will be integrated around the titanium frame that these models will hopefully offer us. In any case, more margin and space for the Dynamic Island and more on-screen content, however little, is always welcome news. As always, however, it should be noted that this information has not been confirmed by Apple, so we will have to wait for the official announcement in September or October to know for sure what the new design of the iPhone 15 will be. In the meantime, rumors promise us an innovative phone -just tell that to the A17 chip and its impressive power– and with a really very attractive design.
