MAPPA, the studio behind Jujutsu Kaisen, confirmed Season 4 as soon as the Season 3 finale aired in March 2026. That moves the anime toward its next arc, even if there’s still no release date attached.
Season 3 ran from January through March 2026. It covered the opening stretch of the Culling Game and laid the groundwork for the conflict ahead, which is why 2027 or 2028 still feels like the safer guess, not some unusually fast turnaround.
Season 4 should pick up with Kenjaku’s brutal Culling Game and push into even bigger fights with more on the line. But that’s only part of it. The real center of this stretch is Yuji Itadori, who heads into one of the bleakest parts of the series still carrying everything Shibuya left on him: guilt, trauma, and the sense that every choice costs someone. He doesn’t come off like a swaggering shonen lead here. He feels more like a hero held together by empathy, despair, endurance, and responsibility.
Adam McArthur, Yuji Itadori’s English dub actor, has described Yuji as “honesty over toughness,” and that gets at why this update matters if you care more about Yuji than pure spectacle. Yuji isn’t fighting with any clear plan anymore. He’s just trying to save whoever he still can, Megumi Fushiguro included, and Season 4 could be the point where he fully locks in as one of modern anime’s most human leads.
For now, the only thing MAPPA has actually confirmed is that the anime will keep adapting Gege Akutami’s manga.
