Cubenary has unveiled Kitori Academy, a gentler, cozier magic-school RPG built around the same Hogwarts-style wish fulfillment people remember from the PS1 Harry Potter games, and more recently, Hogwarts Legacy.
It used to go by Witchery Academy. Now it’s being framed as Cubenary’s single-player life sim, one that trades big-budget combat for classes, gardening, potion brewing, spells, friendships, and plenty of customization for both your character and your spirit-companion cat. The school itself looks like the center of it all.
For anyone who’d rather have wizard-school charm than nonstop battles, this one’s still worth keeping an eye on. The game pulled in £82,451 from 2,470 backers on Kickstarter, and updates across 2025 and 2026 have shown off new classrooms, an Unexpected Events system, and more polished NPC schedules, even if the original Fall 2023 release window has long since slipped into a much vaguer “Coming Soon.”
Most coverage has landed on the same shorthand: Harry Potter mixed with Animal Crossing and a little Studio Ghibli. When it does arrive, it’s planned for PC through Steam, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox.
