At PlayStation’s State of Play stream for the brand’s 30th anniversary, Lego and Sony showed off a full-size replica of the original 1994 PlayStation. It’s a 1:1 build made up of 1,911 pieces, and it arrives in October for $179.99.
The set recreates the 1994 Sony PlayStation console in the rounded gray PS1 style, complete with the signature controller button colors. You get a buildable controller, a disc tray that opens, buttons you can actually press, and a few hidden easter eggs. It also includes removable mini dioramas based on Ape Escape and Gran Turismo, and you can display those separately.
Pricing breaks down like this: $179.99 in the U.S., £139.99 in the U.K., €159.99 in Europe, and ¥27,980 in Japan.
If you collect replica gaming hardware, or just grew up with a PS1 sitting under the TV, this is the kind of set that hits right away. It also sits neatly next to Lego’s Nintendo Entertainment System, Atari 2600, and Game Boy sets, along with Microsoft’s Mattel Xbox, as part of Lego’s broader premium “kidult” push for adult fans and collectors.
You’ll be able to pre-order, or buy early, starting October 1 through PlayStation Direct in the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, and Portugal.
