At PokémonXP, the LEGO Group confirmed that the LEGO Pokémon line is growing again in 2027. Five new Smart Play sets are coming, and the company teased them with a short silhouette video.
LEGO hasn’t named the Pokémon in this wave yet. Still, community posts and reports from LEGO-focused outlets keep pointing to the same five: Charcadet, Grookey, Mankey, Pichu, and Wingull. If that list holds, you’d get a lineup that pulls from both newer and older generations instead of sticking only with Kanto favorites.
Smart Play leans on sensors, lights, and sounds, not app-heavy screens. So this wave should feel more physical than a standard display set. Wingull, in particular, seems like a natural match for movement- or sound-based features.
If you’ve been following this line, the teaser fits into a pretty clear timeline. The LEGO Group and The Pokémon Company International announced the partnership in March 2025, then launched the first sets in February 2026 with Pikachu, Eevee, and the final evolutions of the Kanto starters. After that came Jigglypuff, Mewtwo, Charizard, Pokémon GO store events, and a broader push into software-enabled brick play.
The new sets are planned for 2027, but the LEGO Group still hasn’t announced exact dates, pricing, or full regional rollout details, including Japan and other Asian markets.
