Madden is finally coming back to the Mac. EA says Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition arrives on August 6, 2026 through Apple Arcade, giving the series its first official Mac release since Madden NFL 08 came out 19 years ago.
EA says Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition includes Franchise and Quick Play, along with a weekly story engine inside Franchise and player ratings that change with real NFL performance. It’s also a premium release, so there are no ads and no in-app purchases.
Apple is calling it the biggest football launch in Apple Arcade’s history. The game supports iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV, plus controllers, so you can move from one device to another pretty easily. It also lines up with Apple’s broader sports push on Apple Arcade, where games like Retro Bowl College+ and NFL Retro Bowl ’27 are already part of the lineup.
If you’ve been waiting for a proper Madden on Mac, this looks worth grabbing. The real question is how close Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition feels to the console games, because that’s what players still want to see, not something closer to Madden NFL Mobile.
