Michael Biehn says he’d gladly return to Ubisoft’s Far Cry franchise now that FX is developing a Far Cry TV series. If you remember Ubisoft’s 2013 spin-off Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, the first character that probably comes to mind is Sergeant Rex “Power” Colt, the role Biehn voiced.
There hasn’t been any official word from FX, Ubisoft, or the producers that Michael Biehn is involved, and there’s no sign that any talks have happened. Still, his connection to the franchise is real. He voiced Rex Colt in 2013’s Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, the neon-drenched, gloriously over-the-top 1980s action spoof that ended up becoming a fan favorite.
Biehn has said he’d be open to a major role or just a cameo, whether that’s a single-scene appearance or even a small Easter egg. That kind of part would fit neatly in a series built around larger-than-life villains, isolated settings, and that same pulp-action energy.
FX’s Far Cry adaptation is being developed by Noah Hawley and Rob McElhenney as an anthology, not a direct adaptation of one specific game. That probably plays well if you’ve always liked Far Cry more for its tone and chaos than for one continuing story.
If you’ve been with Far Cry for years, this is probably one to watch, especially with Rob McElhenney reportedly set to star, Lizzy Caplan and Steve Buscemi linked to the project, and production expected to begin in fall 2026.
The series is still in development at FX, so for now, there’s nothing to watch yet.
