The Minecraft x Herschel collab is live now in Minecraft: Bedrock Edition. It pairs a real-world Herschel merch collection with a free in-game add-on called Herschel Backpack Trials.
You can grab Herschel Backpack Trials through the Minecraft Marketplace. The add-on has you earn and upgrade a backpack by finishing in-game challenges. Once it’s fully upgraded, that backpack can reportedly hold up to 442,368 items. A standard fully stacked inventory holds roughly 65,668 by comparison, and that’s without counting Shulker Boxes. As you level the backpack up, you also unlock useful perks like auto-sorting, auto-smelting, and tool repair.
The real-world side of the collab includes Herschel backpacks, lunch boxes, and headwear with Creeper, Enderman, and dimension-inspired designs, including the limited Little America Cube Backpack. It also lines up with Mojang’s broader run of Minecraft lifestyle partnerships with brands like Burberry, Adidas, and Crocs. Minecraft has been stretching beyond the game itself for a while now, and that’s still ramping up ahead of smaller game drops and A Minecraft Movie in April 2025.
If you play Minecraft: Bedrock Edition regularly, this is an easy one to check out. Early reactions have been positive, especially around the quest-based progression and the convenience the backpack adds. Still, there are some open questions, mostly about multiplayer balance and whether any of this will end up carrying over to Minecraft: Java Edition.
