Capcom used its Spotlight 2026 show to confirm the first post-launch update for Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, which released on March 13, 2026. The update has two parts: the paid Additional Side Story: Rudy expansion, and a free endgame update focused on Royal Monsters.
The Rudy DLC puts the spotlight on Rudy and his bond with Navirou, so it sounds closer to a proper character episode than a small bonus quest. Capcom also confirmed that its main set-piece is a boss fight against Nergigante.
That free update may matter even more for a lot of players. One of the clearest weak points in the base game was how little there was to do after the credits, and tougher Royal Monsters should help fill that gap. Even players who skip the paid story add-on still get something substantial out of it.
So if you’ve already wrapped up the campaign and wanted more high-level fights, the free Royal Monsters update looks like the easy sell. The Rudy pack is more for people who want another dose of the series’ lighter RPG style and more time with a familiar cast.
Capcom is also staying the course with the long-support approach it calls a “flywheel-driven business model.” The company pointed to fiscal-year results showing ¥195.3 billion in net sales, up 15.2% year over year, along with 59.07 million games sold and a ninth straight year of record profits.
Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is available now. The Rudy DLC is sold separately, and the Royal Monsters update will roll out later as free post-launch support.
