Palworld, the survival game that combines shooter mechanics with capturing creatures to make them fight or work, has been shown in a brief teaser to showcase the PvP game mode they are preparing for this year. This mode will allow users to face each other in a battle that, of course, will include the Pals that each one selects for the fight.
This video game, despite its initial success, has faded away during its first months of life and has lost many players, despite its high sales figures, so the Palworld team is making an effort to bring new features that are capable of retaining players and bringing back many of those who have left in recent weeks.
PvP is coming to Palworld
Through a video on YouTube and other platforms, Palworld has revealed its next game mode, which will offer players the option to engage in PvP battles against other users, in what they have called “The Triple-i Initiative”, where the battles, in addition to players, will also include the 3 companions that each one chooses.
This is a very short teaser, as it only lasts 15 seconds, but in that time you can already see that it will be about battles between each player and 3 Pals against another player and their corresponding 3 Pals, all in an arena where the winner of the battle will be decided by the player who remains standing until the end. Not much is known about the release date, as Palworld only specifies that this mode will arrive during these months of 2024.
A strong but fleeting success
This title gave a more than appealing surprise at the beginning of the year, where, in a quite unexpected way, it started selling copies massively under the premise of being a game where you can capture creatures like in Pokémon (although they are very, very different games in their concept) shortly after its release. However, its player base has also quickly declined, with an effect that is finally dissipating in its first months.
During that time, there have been no shortage of controversies surrounding this game, starting with the more than evident inspiration from 3D models of various Pokémon and other creatures from different franchises. However, the game did not suffer any scorn from the public, whose buyers ended up numbering in the tens of millions. Now, however, they will have to fight to bring back those players who only played the game in the early days, and proposals like this PvP mode show a very clear reason to stop the decline in game traffic.
