ATLUS says Persona 3 Reload, its remake of Persona 3, has now hit 3 million units shipped and sold digitally worldwide since launching in February 2024. The game moved 1 million copies in its first week, reached 2 million by July 2025, and has now tacked on another million.
A lot of that early momentum came from the launch setup. Persona 3 Reload arrived day one on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, so it was easier to get your hands on than earlier Persona releases.
The reviews helped too. Persona 3 Reload sits at an 89 on Metacritic and got strong praise for its visual overhaul, cleaner mechanics, and updated presentation, while still keeping the original game’s darker tone and social-sim structure intact.
ATLUS and Sega kept that going with the Expansion Pass and Episode Aigis -The Answer-, which they said adds more than 30 hours of story content. Sega also said DLC sales were strong. On the broader series front, ATLUS says Persona has now passed 30 million sales worldwide, and the Persona 5 sub-series by itself is now over 10 million.
One weaker point is the Nintendo Switch 2 version. It launched in October 2025 and sold a fairly modest 6,778 physical copies in Japan in its first week, and there’s still no public digital sales number for it.
If you’ve been waiting for a reason to give this remake a shot, the sales streak and the reception make a solid argument on their own. Persona 3 Reload is out now on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.
