Goodbye to 32 Games: A Farewell to PlayStation Plus Titles in May

Titles like Marvels Spider-Man are leaving PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium.

A hot month of April is coming to an end and a radiant May is already ahead of us in terms of video games (the month of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Redfall, among many others). In terms of subscription services, companies are also fine-tuning what is to come, good proof of this is that we already have the games coming to PlayStation Plus Essential… but also those leaving PlayStation Plus Extra and PlayStation Plus Premium.

The case of Spidey

There are many games to highlight within the 32 that are leaving, but Marvel’s Spider-Man is really striking. This title is owned by Sony, that is, it has been developed by PlayStation itself (by Insomniac Games, to be exact). For this reason, it is surprising that it is removed from the subscription service considering that it is their own, not to mention that its second part is coming out this year.

On the other hand, there are also other names to highlight in the list. For example, the departure of games like Resident Evil, Shenmue III or two installments of the Metro saga are important losses. In fact, we are talking about true great games, as is also the case with This War of Mine. The “good” thing is that you still have time to get your hands on them, since they are leaving this coming May 16, that is, you have two weeks to play them.

The collection, also outside

Beyond these 32 games, May also leaves us with some sad news in terms of releases. When PlayStation 5 hit the market, Sony made the PlayStation Plus Collection available to users. This compilation of games was available to all gamers who subscribed to the service when purchasing a PS5 (or already were).

For a long time we fantasized that this collection would grow as the weeks went by, but the reality has been that not only has it not grown, but this May 9 it will disappear forever. This is almost the twenty or so video games that will vanish as if Thanos were snapping his fingers. You have another two weeks -more or less- to get hold of them (and in this case, the quality level of the titles seems to us to be very high, more than the previous 32).

  • Batman: Arkham Knight
  • Battlefield 1
  • Bloodborne
  • Call of Duty: Black Ops III – Zombies Chronicles Edition
  • Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy
  • Days Gone
  • Detroit: Become Human
  • Fallout 4
  • Final Fantasy XV
  • God of War
  • inFamous: Second Son
  • Monster Hunter World
  • Mortal Kombat X
  • Ratchet & Clank
  • Resident Evil 7: Biohazard
  • The Last Guardian
  • The Last of Us Remastered
  • Uncharted 4: El Desenlace del Ladrón
  • Until Dawn
