Early leaked renders of the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra point to a different look on the back: a rectangular camera island and, possibly, a Qi2 magnetic ring. Even so, Samsung still has time to revise the design before the phone expected in early 2027 is locked in.
Recent Samsung Galaxy Ultra phones use separate camera lenses that sit on their own. The Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra may move to one raised camera block instead, with a layout that looks pretty close to the current iPhone approach, which is why the copycat complaints have already started.
Looks are only part of it. A single module could give Samsung room for larger camera hardware, magnetic charging components, and a little more internal space for cooling or a bigger battery. Current rumors also point to a triple-camera setup with a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 50MP 5x telephoto, while the 3x lens may be dropped.
If you follow Samsung’s flagship phones, this leak is one to keep an eye on. Some people see it as Samsung giving up one of the design traits that made the Ultra line stand out. Others argue that big camera islands are standard now across Apple, Google, and Chinese competitors. Separate rumors also mention a four-model Samsung Galaxy S27 range, a possible Pro variant, and even two Ultra sizes.
You can’t buy anything yet. These are still early leaks, and Samsung’s final design for the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra, which is expected in early 2027, could still end up looking different.
