Benchmark listings have now surfaced for Samsung’s still-unannounced Galaxy Tab S11, and they point to a flagship MediaTek chip, probably something from the Dimensity 9400 line. If that holds, Samsung is sticking with MediaTek again after the Galaxy Tab S10 series already moved away from the usual Snapdragon pattern. At that point, the Galaxy Tab S11 starts to look less like a one-off choice and more like Samsung changing course with its tablets.
Samsung hasn’t confirmed the exact Galaxy Tab S11 model or the final hardware setup, so this still sits in rumor territory. Even so, benchmark entries are often one of the clearest early signs of what a company is actually testing before a device launches.
And the processor choice matters more than the spec sheet crowd sometimes makes it sound. It affects performance, battery life, heat, gaming, software support, multitasking, stylus use, creative apps, and how well Samsung DeX holds up when you’re using the tablet like a small desktop.
If you keep an eye on flagship Android tablets, this is one to watch. MediaTek has gotten much better at the top end, and Samsung may be finding a better balance here: speed, efficiency, and a little more flexibility on the supply side. Day to day, though, you still might not notice a dramatic difference.
What’s more likely is a familiar round of upgrades rather than any major redesign. Think the usual formula: a high-refresh display, S Pen support, productivity features, and the kind of top-tier performance Samsung already aims for in this class.
Samsung still hasn’t officially announced the Galaxy Tab S11, so for now, you can’t actually buy it.
