A few days ago, media such as the Daily Mail announced as an exclusive that Netflix would be developing a spin-off of Stranger Things for when the series ends. Specifically, they spoke of a spin-off starring Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven in the series), also starring in the main series.
The original article even mentioned that the actress had turned down a check for ten million pounds to return to play Eleven in this supposed spin-off. However, all this seems to have been a media hoax, as resolved by the original writers of the series.
There will be no spin-off about Eleven
Via the @strangerwriters account, which the Duffer Brothers use to share information about Stranger Things and everything surrounding the Netflix series, the screenwriters tweeted the following:
“There is nothing in this article that is true. We don’t know why we have to keep debunking this rumor, but hey, full on those clicks!”
Thus, it seems clear that the already bizarre idea of an Once spin-off is not in Netflix’s or the Duffers’ plans. What is in development, as already announced at the time, is the creation of spin-offs of the original series once the last season ends.
We do not yet know what these future spin-offs may look like. However, a play that serves as a prequel to Stranger Things has been announced. In this way, we could get to find adaptations of what happened to the characters before the events of Hawkins or what happens with the Back to Front World.
