Arrowhead Game Studios has confirmed that they are already working on a new project, which will be aligned with what has been seen in Helldivers 2. Johan Pilestedt, creative director and former CEO of the studio, shared in a recent talk that the development is in its early stages. This phase is crucial for him, as it allows him to bring the team together and define the vision of the game, forging a connection between its members.

Helldivers 2, released in February 2024, has maintained its relevance in the gaming landscape, being nominated as the best title that “is still being played” at the Golden Joystick Awards. Pilestedt has emphasized that the new game will recognize the DNA of Helldivers, ensuring that fans of the franchise will appreciate familiar elements. In contrast to the expectations of some players, Pilestedt has made it clear that Helldivers 3 is not in Arrowhead’s immediate plans. Shams Jorjani, the current CEO of the studio, has emphasized that his focus is to make Helldivers 2 a title that “is always enjoyed,” through a constant cycle of updates and improvements.
