Version 1.5 of PopCap‘s mobile classic has been released for Android devices. Don’t worry too much though – if version 1.5 of Plants vs. Zombies 2 isn’t available for your phone yet, you’re not missing out on much. 1.5 makes it easier to move between levels, and allows you to skip the map if you choose. The icing on the cake is the addition of a new game mode, Piñata Party. In this new level, you get to battle zombies from all over the world for a period of 24 hours. If you survive 3 levels of madness, you get to bash open a massive Señor Piñata to reveal the prizes inside, which is probably worth the upgrade all in itself.

Plants vs. Zombies 2 “Far Future” expansion pack drops tomorrow for iOS
The first expansion pack for Plants vs. Zombies 2 is coming tomorrow. Called Far Future, the update includes a new level in the (you guessed it) future. Players will also be treated to 3 new plants and new zombies.
Citron deals heavy damage, Laser Bean pierces zombie shields, and Star-Fruits shoot stars all across the level. Zombies will be dressed in futuristic red outfits with updated takes on the iconic traffic cone and bucket. They will also have three new vehicles: the helmet tank, jetpack, and cone “mech.”

Plants vs. Zombies 2 was first released last year as a free-to-play title. While some games have been ruined by the free-to-play mechanic (looking at you, Angry Birds Go!), Plants vs. Zombies 2 remains fun without having to spend real money.
The update will arrive tomorrow for iOS. No word on when we can expect the update to come to Android.

Plants vs. Zombies 2 released on Android
The sequel to the cult classic mobile strategy game, Plants vs. Zombies, has finally made it to Android. Plants vs. Zombies 2 has been out on iOS since August of this year but the Android version was delayed. Developer PopCap promised to deliver the game to Android users “later this fall” and they’ve delivered.
If you’ve never played Plants vs. Zombies, the goal of the game is to protect your home from being invaded by zombies. You’ll have an arsenal of powerful plants to help you guard your home. Plants vs. Zombies 2 introduces three different worlds: ancient Egypt, a pirate ship, and a hidden temple. Win stars by completing goals in each level to unlock new worlds and levels.
The game is free to play but has plenty of in-app purchases to speed up unlocking more plants and powers. Although there are in-app purchases, they are not required to be successful in the game.

Plants vs. Zombies 2 coming to Android later this fall
PopCap’s hilarious zombie strategy game, Plants vs. Zombies 2, will be out on Android some time this fall. Although Polygon reports the game will come to Android next month in October, a spokesperson for Plants vs. Zombies could not confirm a solid release date beyond “later this fall.”
@lewisleong PvZ2 on Android is scheduled for release later this fall. Beyond that, we have nothing further to confirm at this time! ^VV

Plants vs. Zombies 2 had its share of delays this year, missing its July target by one month. PopCap wanted the game to be perfect before rolling it out for iOS so the delayed Android release may need some polishing before it’s pushed out to users.
EA did a great job with Plants vs. Zombies 2, even though the game went free-to-play. Free games are often plagued by excessive in-app purchases but PvZ2 is a very balanced game. You can unlock levels and plants quicker by purchasing them or buying in-game currency to speed up your progress.

Plants vs Zombies 2: 13 essential tricks!
With over 16 million downloads in its first 5 days, Plants vs Zombies 2 has become a social phenomenon!
Here, we give you 13 tips to help you become the best gardener/zombie hunter of all time!
1. Fertilizer is perhaps the most important innovation introduced in Plants vs. Zombies. The game encourages you to use this bonus often, only giving you the ability to store a few at a time (three at the beginning of the game). Fortunately for you (but unfortunately for the zombies), fertilizer pellets are regularly awarded

Your plants are crazy about fertilizer. Be generous, and they’ll reward you in return!
2. The Bonk-Choi is one of the new plants in Plants vs. Zombies 2. You can trust this Chinese cabbage brawler to bail you out of tricky situations. It can hit enemies from the front or behind, ideal for stopping the advance of zombies between holes in your defenses.

3. Don’t waste your time collecting suns. They may disappear if you’re not paying attention, or worse, the Ra Zombies might steal them!
4. Another new recruit, Iceberg Lettuce, is really effective in stopping the advance of faster zombies. Freeze your enemies in place and turn off the torches of the terrible Explorer Zombies. This is a plant to keep in your arsenal, but beware of its long recharge time.
5. Pay close attention to conditions for winning stars on each level. Some details can be confusing such as the famous flowers that you’ll have to protect during some missions.

The famous flowers need protection.
6. The shots of many plants are blocked by tombstones. Use the Cabbage-pults to catapult ammo over the tombstones.
7. Feel free to use your special powers in the case of a zombie rush! Better to lose a few pieces than lose the whole mission.
8. Be ruthless! What happens if a zombie breaks through your lines of defense and comes dangerously close to your lawn? Don’t hesitate to sacrifice some plants to gain time. Planting a Sunflower will give you precious seconds that will allow you to use special powers, plant an offensive weapon or use a fertilizer pellet!
9. Fortify your Nuts with a fertilizer pellet, perfect for strengthening weak defenses.

10. Consult the almanac to identify how to wisely invest your keys in improvements and plants. Some plants will be more useful than others; prioritize those that will be most useful to your playing style.

11. Having trouble finding yourself on the game map? Try taking a step back by tapping the magnifying glass. Note that you can also zoom in by pinching the screen.

It’s already looking clearer, right?
12. Any self-respecting strategist must know their troops inside out! Test the effects of fertilizer on all of the plants to boost your strategies. And who knows, you might even be surprised with the results!
13. Boxer extraordinaire, Bonk-Choi has an extension and can reach the zombies behind a nut or a tomb!

Plants vs. Zombies 2 out tomorrow on iOS
The wait is almost over. PopCap initially announced that Plants vs. Zombies 2 would be coming out in July but the company later delayed the game “to make sure [it] lives up to fans’ expectations.” There wasn’t a solid release date after the delay but now there’s info that points to tomorrow’s release of Plants vs. Zombies 2 for iOS.
Apple’s App Store Facebook page put up a teaser image today of an animated zombie hand reaching out of the ground. The caption reads “It’s about time. Guess what game is coming tomorrow?”

The original Plants vs. Zombies debuted in 2009, making it a long four years leading up to its sequel. It’s not just a nip-and-tuck update to the game either; PopCap has made a controversial move to make the game free-to-play. While a free game sounds great, there will inevitably be in-app purchases that can drive the game far beyond its usual sub-$5 price.

Plants vs. Zombies 2 soft launched in Australia and New Zealand
Plants vs. Zombies 2 has been delayed until “later this summer” but Australians and New New Zealanders can get their hands on the game right now. PopCap is soft launching the zombie tower defense game early in these two countries to test out the game before shipping it to the rest of the world.
The goal of this test launch in Australia and New Zealand is to test PopCap’s server capacity to make sure services won’t go down when tons of Plants vs. Zombies download and play the game. However, this doesn’t mean that the game requires an internet connection to play. This is a good move especially with the EA’s botched SimCity launch, which required an internet connection to play the game. The second goal for this soft launch is the ability to see how players play the game and to fix any balance issues.
PopCap is warning players in Australia and New Zealand that the game will be subject to changes throughout the testing phase. “Please be sure to remember that we are going to be testing all sorts of different aspects of the game’s functionality, pricing, stability, etc. So don’t be surprised if you see lots of changes during this testing phase,” writes Allen Murry, Sr. Producer of Plants vs. Zombies 2.

Plants vs. Zombies 2 delayed until “later this summer”
Plants vs. Zombies fans will have to wait just a bit longer as Plants vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time has been delayed until “later this summer.” PopCap originally planned to release the game on July 18th but the company wants to make sure the game is absolutely perfect before it ships. The company took to Twitter to announce the delay, saying they want “to make sure the game lives up to fans’ expectations.”
@treznic We're sorry for the delay, but want to make sure the game lives up to fans' expectations. Stay tuned for more details! ^VV

When Plants vs. Zombies 2 does come out, it will be a free-to-play game that will launch exclusively on iOS first. There will be four unlockable worlds and a slew of all new zombies to defend against.
Be sure to check out the trailer and teasers for the game as you wait patiently for its release.
E3 2013: PopCap teases Plants vs. Zombies 2 with hilarious ad and teasers
Plants vs. Zombies started life as a PC and Mac game, released in 2009. In 2010, the game made its way on to iOS and exploded in popularity. It’s been three years without a sequel to the massively popular game so what’s the deal? PopCap shows its self-deprecating humor by creating a teaser that features people asking why the sequel to Plants vs. Zombies is taking so long. Check it out.
PopCap also released two short teaser trailers showing new gameplay elements from the upcoming Plants vs. Zombies 2. The same tower defense gameplay is still there but there seems to be much more variety. We’re shown brief glances at new plants and new zombies. There are pirate zombies!
There’s no information about which platforms Plants vs. Zombies 2 is coming to but you can be sure it’ll make it on iOS and Android. The game will be released July 2013 so you won’t have to wait long at all to find out.

Plants Vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time coming in July, will be free to play
We knew that Plants Vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time was in development, and now developer PopCap has announced it will be released on July 18th for iOS. In this sequel, time-traveling has been added so you’ll be gardening against zombies in the past and future.

Screenshots show the basics of the game to be pretty unchanged. Novelty will come with new zombies to fight, and new plants to fight them with. There will also be new power-ups from Crazy Dave, who will join you as you battle in various themed worlds.

One way Plants Vs. Zombies 2: It’s About Time will be different is that it’s free to play. This means there will be optional in-game purchases, though PopCap stress you can play everything the game has to offer without playing. It will be interesting to see how the excellently balanced gameplay of the original will be affected by the free to play model, which has been pretty damaging to some games like Real Racing 3.
