Telltale Games teases next The Walking Dead: Season 2 episode

The Walking Dead Season 2 got off to a dramatic start last December with episode one, All That Remains, and now developer Telltale Games is teasing the next episode with a determined looking Clem saying ‘Still. Not. Bitten.’

Telltale Games’ Walking Dead games are episodic point and click Zombie adventures. The first season was many people’s game of 2012. It was both an excellent modern spin on the point and click genre, as well as telling an unusually emotional and rich story for a video game. Telltale Games had been doing a good job of making the point and click adventure cool again, with its Tales of Monkey Island and Sam & Max reboots, but it was The Walking Dead that really caught people’s imagination.

The next episode of The Walking Dead Season 2 will be called A House Divided, but Telltale has not yet announced a release date. We’d expect it to arrive in February or early March based on the bi-monthly release schedule of Season One.

If you’ve never played and Walking Dead, it’s available on all major platforms (Windows, OS X, iOS and consoles). You can play the first chapter free on iOS devices.

The Walking Dead: Season 2 trailer shows Clementine’s struggle for survival

Telltale Games has released the launch trailer for The Walking Dead: Season 2. The trailer shows footage from the first season of The Walking Dead Game with new footage of Clementine’s struggle for survival.

The Clementine we see in this trailer is much less innocent than when we were first introduced to her character. She will undoubtedly have to face unyielding zombies as well as meeting human strangers, some of who are more vicious than the zombies themselves.

The first episode of Walking Dead: Season 2, “All That Remains”, will launch on December 17th on Steam for Mac and PC. Xbox players will have to wait one more day to download the game. Although support for iOS and the PlayStation Network have been announced, neither have a release date.

The Walking Dead: Season 2 trailer shows Clementine’s return

The first teaser trailer for The Walking Dead: Season 2 has been released by Telltale Games. The brief trailer contrasts the hopeful, young Clementine from the first season with an older, hardened Clementine from Season Two.

The sequel to the award winning episodic point-and-click adventure game will continue Clementine’s story as she continues her journey in a zombie apocalypse. The game will take place over five episodes like Telltale’s other games. The first episode will be available some time in November with the final episode releasing sometime in 2014.

The game will be available on Windows PCs, Mac, Xbox, PlayStation, and iOS at launch but Telltale plans to bring the game to more platforms (most likely Android). Fans of the series can pre-order the entire season of The Walking Dead: Season 2 on Steam or Telltale’s own store for $22.49 today, 10% off its normal price.

The Walking Dead Season 2 to be revealed tomorrow

Telltale Games is about to give us a look at The Walking Dead: Season 2 tomorrow, October 29th at 12:00pm Pacific/3:00pm Eastern. The company tweeted out a picture of Clementine’s blood-soaked hat and wrote “Keep that hair short,” which is the iconic line spoken by Lee Everett in the first Walking Dead game.

The Walking Dead won many awards last year and was my favorite game of 2012. It’s exciting to see how Telltale continues their unique story in the Walking Dead universe. Telltale has been busy, releasing the 400 Days DLC for The Walking Dead as well as releasing its new game, The Wolf Among Us, which takes place in Bill Willingham’s Fables universe.

The game is expected to launch sometime this fall, though that could change with tomorrow’s announcement.

Telltale’s The Walking Dead season 2 coming this fall

The next season of The Walking Dead games from Telltale is on track for Fall 2013. An interview with Eurogamer had indicated 2014, but Telltale have clarified that it’s definitely this year.

The Walking Dead won many people’s Game of the Year award last year, including our own Lewis Leong’s. Telltale have built their reputation by salvaging the ‘point and click’ adventure genre and making it popular again for today’s gamers. A point and click zombie game didn’t seem a very likely proposition, but The Walking Dead‘s dynamic story, where your choices have tangible effects on the outcome made it great. In a world full of zombie games, The Walking Dead stands out as a really original title. We can’t wait for the sequel.

While Telltale’s games are based on The Walking Dead comics, there is also a tie-in with the TV show. From Activision, The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is a more traditional first-person survival horror game, and should be out on March 19th 2013.
