Some games are classics that’ve been somewhat forgotten. As important as they are, it usually happens that they are not played as much as they once were. Or rather, they’re not remembered in the same way. Among those games we could add Double Dragon. Something that doesn’t completely make sense because it’s still an excellent game, it’s still a very alive franchise and, moreover, it will soon receive a very unique new installment.
Titled Double Dragon Revive, it is developed by Arc System Work and was just announced in the latest issue of Weekly Famitsu magazine. Seeking to reproduce the intensity of old-school side-scrolling action games, they aim to add controls and a difficulty more typical of our time. With one particularity: it’ll be in 3D.
This will not be the first 3D Double Dragon. The first was Double Dragon Neon, released in 2012, for the digital platforms of Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. But despite being a very interesting game, it was not a great success.
Double Dragon Revive will be released in 2025 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and PC. And the first images promise something incredible.
