People Can Fly, the renowned Polish studio known for its work on action titles such as Painkiller, Bulletstorm, Outriders, and Gears of War Judgment, has announced its new video game titled Lost Rift. This title was revealed during the Future Game Show 2025 and promises to offer an innovative FPS experience that combines survival, action, and supernatural elements in a cooperative open world.
A game focused on cooperation and fighting against the environment
Lost Rift stands out for its focus on the PvEvP mechanics, where players will not only fight against fierce supernatural creatures but also against other players. This dynamic adds a layer of tension and strategy, as cooperation among players will be crucial for survival in a hostile environment. Additionally, the game will include traditional PvP modes, allowing confrontations between survivors to be essential for improving players’ gear and skills.
The launch of Lost Rift is scheduled for late this year in early access through Steam, allowing players to experience the game before its official release. This approach is characteristic of People Can Fly, a studio that has enjoyed a successful trajectory but has recently faced internal challenges, including 120 layoffs. Despite this, the team remains active, collaborating on the development of Gears of War: E-Day alongside The Coalition and working on a new project for PlayStation known by the codename Project Delta. All of this after leaving virtual reality.
With the revelation of Lost Rift, fans of action and survival games have reasons to be excited, as the studio aims to provide a rich gameplay experience and social dynamics. In the coming weeks, more information is expected about both Lost Rift and the other projects the studio is involved in, which could provide a broader insight into its future in the video game industry.
