After almost seven years since its debut, the series The Boys comes to its conclusion with season 5, which will premiere on April 8, 2026. During the Comic-Con Experience (CCXP), Amazon Prime Video announced the release date and shared a shocking trailer for this final installment of the violent and provocative superhero satire.
We will still have to wait almost half a year
Season 5 will consist of several episodes, starting with the premiere of the first two on April 8 and continuing with a weekly episode until culminating on May 20, promising an “unforgettable and epic finale.” This comes after the extraordinary conclusion of season 4, which left the main characters in critical situations, facing the consequences of a plan by the character Butcher to eliminate the Supes.
In the teaser for this new season, it shows how each character has been affected by the new world dominated by Patriota. Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie find themselves in a “freedom field,” while Annie struggles to organize a resistance and Kimiko remains missing. In this context, Butcher returns determined to use a virus to eliminate all Supers, which promises to intensify the conflicts and tension of the series.
The main cast is still led by Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, and Antony Starr, with new faces joining such as Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins, who recall their partnership in Supernatural. Other cast members include Erin Moriarty, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, and Jensen Ackles, along with new additions like Deveed Diggs and Mason Dye. Eric Kripke continues at the helm as showrunner, ensuring the continuity of the creative vision that has defined this cult series.
