The American network Starz has officially announced the premiere date for the eighth and final season of Outlander, which will hit screens on March 6, 2026. Although Movistar Plus+ has not yet communicated specific details, the series is expected to debut in Spain around similar dates, a common practice in their releases.
A series that has made history
This season will mark the return of the main characters, Claire and Jamie Fraser, played by Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan, who will have to face the challenges of a war looming over their home. As the Fraser clan returns home, they will discover that their absence has brought unexpected conflicts, forcing them to rethink their family loyalty and what they are willing to sacrifice for their place in the world.
The main cast also includes Sophie Skelton as Brianna MacKenzie, Richard Rankin as Roger MacKenzie, John Bell as young Ian Murray, David Berry as Lord John Grey, Charles Vandervaart as William Ransom, and Izzy Meikle-Small as Rachel Murray. This combination of characters promises to deliver a rich dose of romance and drama that will keep viewers hooked until the end of the series.
The series, which already has a successful spin-off titled Blood of my Blood, which premiered last summer, continues to be developed by Ronald D. Moore, with Matthew B. Roberts as showrunner, thanks to the literary foundation by Diana Gabaldon. Recently, a preview of the new season was shared, increasing the anticipation among fans of the acclaimed series.
