The beta of Gears of War: Reloaded will run from June 20 at 12 p.m. PDT to June 22 at 9 p.m. PDT, adding nine more hours than the previous beta. This extension responds to the criticism received for technical issues and the similarity to Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, which has led many players to question the lack of innovations in the title.
An extension with which they seek to continue refining issues
The new trial period will include more maps and game modes, such as KOTH (King of the Hill) and Execution, allowing players to explore different experiences within the Gears universe. The maps available for these modes will include classics like Gridlock, Raven Down, and Canals, which promises to revive the nostalgia of the saga’s fans.
With a setting directed towards modern technology, Gears of War: Reloaded will offer 4K at 120 FPS in multiplayer modes, as well as featuring cross-play and cross-progression between platforms, especially between Xbox Series X and PS5. Despite these advanced features, the beta has been criticized for not providing significant improvements in crucial aspects such as hit detection and server stability, which has left many players with even higher expectations for the full release.
The Coalition, in an attempt to address the community’s concerns, has stated on social media: “We hear your feedback. More maps. More modes. More time.” However, as the scheduled release date of August 26 approaches, the developers have still not provided clear answers on whether they will be able to effectively implement the necessary improvements before launch day. Some analysts suggest that, without a delay, it could be challenging to make deep adjustments to the game.
