Halo saga fans have reasons to celebrate with the recent update of Halo Infinite, which has brought back the Firefight Classic mode, originally from the acclaimed Halo 3: ODST. This long-awaited return allows players to relive the excitement of facing endless waves of enemies in a rounded format, where a team of four players must overcome sets composed of five waves.
The return of a highly anticipated classic for fans
In Firefight Classic, players share a total of seven lives, which means that strategy and teamwork are crucial. If the team runs out of lives, the mission ends, although there is the possibility to conclude a session at the end of a set, as long as at least two teammates head to the “complete mission” area to be extracted. This option adds a new level of tension and decision-making to the gaming experience.
To increase variety in each match, each set adds a new Skull in rounds two and three, introducing variations that can change the dynamics of the battle. Additionally, players have access to a wide variety of maps crafted with Forge, including remakes of classic scenarios like Alpha Site and Security Zone from Halo 3: ODST, as well as Courtyard from Halo: Reach.
The update called Operation: Blue Team not only brings Firefight Classic, but also includes new maps, such as Nemesis, as well as the new PvP mode Hot Swap and a revamped battle pass. These additions ensure that Halo Infinite remains a relevant title full of content that appeals to both veterans and new players.
