Despite the fact that the main game has been praised as one of the best recent soulslikes, and has several nominations and awards at recognized ceremonies such as The Game Awards and Golden Joystick Awards, fans have pointed out the notable absence of Toyland, an iconic region in the story of Pinocchio. Although mentioned in the game, Toyland was not part of the original map, which has led to speculation about its inclusion in the DLC.
Fan theories suggest that Toyland will indeed be a playable region in Overture, supported by clues such as the appearance of a monorail connected to the city of Krat. This amusement park, known for its depiction of a dangerous and addiction-filled place, could provide a significant backdrop and new challenges for players. In the DLC announcement trailer, a new shotgun-arm can be seen, as well as scenes indicating that Toyland will be an explorable area, further fueling interest in the hidden content that was left out of the initial release.
It is speculated that the reason for its absence in the original game could be that the monorail connecting Toyland was destroyed by the Brotherhood of the Black Rabbit, which would limit access to this unsettling yet fascinating place.
