The series ‘La caza’, which was canceled without warning by TVE after a third season with low ratings, has found a new opportunity. Movistar Plus+ has announced the release of the fourth season, titled ‘La caza. Irati’, which will arrive on September 4. The production follows a team from the Central Operational Unit investigating a series of murders in a small village in the Irati jungle, Navarra.
Returns from the dead
The plot centers around Agent Campos, played by Megan Montaner, who will reunite with her UCO colleagues to solve the mystery behind the murder of a woman. Among the team is Ernesto Selva, played by Félix Gómez, who is facing a professional crisis and questioning his future in the force. This new installment presents an interesting twist, as Campos, now a psychologist in the Behavioral Analysis section of the Civil Guard, returns to help her team unravel the possibility of a serial killer lurking in the woods, known by some locals as The Creature.
The fourth season, written by Agustín Martínez along with Luis Moya and Isa Sánchez, and directed by Rafa Montesinos and Javier Pulido, promises to attract more viewers thanks to its thematic similarities with ‘True Detective’, which could revitalize interest in the series. Despite the controversy surrounding the cancellation of the third season of ‘La caza’, fans can expect a gripping narrative that combines suspense and elements of psychological horror.
With the imminent release, many hope that ‘La caza. Irati’ will manage to capture the audience’s attention and regain the place that this series once held in the landscape of Spanish fiction.
