Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo have released the most significant update to date for Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, a remake of the classic title originally launched in 2008 for Xbox 360. This new update, which brings the versions to Ver 1.003.000 on PS5 and Ver 1.0.7.0 on PC and Xbox Series X|S, introduces modern features that were not available in the original game, such as New Game+ mode, Photo Mode, and the option to hide Ryu’s projectile weapon.
Without any shame: easier ways
Ninja Gaiden 2 Black, which quietly arrived during the Xbox Developer Direct showcase in January 2023, has been developed using Unreal Engine 5. This remake has not only stayed true to the original title but has also incorporated more accessible difficulty modes to cater to a wider audience. The inclusion of the New Game+ mode allows players to enjoy the campaign again, bringing along all the weapons and Ninpo collected during their adventure, although everyone will start over at level 1, ensuring a balanced challenge.
The Photo Mode, a particularly well-received addition, gives players the opportunity to easily capture moments from their gameplay, while the option to stock Ryu’s projectile weapon offers a new visual dimension during combat, allowing players to enhance their visibility during intense battles.
In addition to these features, the update also includes various adjustments and bug fixes, thus improving the overall gaming experience. Ninja Gaiden 2 Black is currently available for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, and is part of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate catalog, ensuring its accessibility for a wide range of players interested in reliving this iconic action saga.
