The Hawkeye series, which debuted in 2021 and received very positive reviews, especially for the chemistry between Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld, may be facing an uncertain future following the actor’s recent comments. Renner confirmed in May of this year that he turned down the offer for a second season because they were offering him approximately half of what he earned in the first installment. In an interview with High Performance, he expressed his surprise at the low financial proposal, stating: “Do you think I’m only half of Jeremy because I was run over?”.
Eye for Marvel
The future of the Marvel series, which has been acclaimed by fans and critics, is thus in a delicate situation. However, Renner has shown a change of perspective; in a recent interview with Empire, he expressed openness to return as Hawkeye or to other productions within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). This change has been well received by the fan base that longs for his return.
In the context of his recovery after a serious accident with a snowplow in 2023, Renner mentioned that he feels “stronger than ever” and that his health has improved significantly. “I have recovered more than 150%”, he asserted, highlighting that his well-being is fundamental in his current life.
Although there is still no official confirmation of new projects from Marvel Studios with Renner, the actor is clearly motivated to return. As the MCU expands, with the release of Avengers: Doomsday in 2026, which will bring together several iconic figures from the studio, rumors about his possible participation are increasing. For now, fans can enjoy The Fantastic Four: First Steps, a movie that directly connects with the rest of the MCU.
