Rian Johnson and Daniel Craig are exploring ideas for a new film featuring detective Benoit Blanc, the iconic character they brought to the screen in Knives Out (2019) and Glass Onion (2022). Although there is still no official confirmation of a fourth film, Johnson has expressed his enthusiasm about the possibility of continuing this successful franchise. In a recent conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, he mentioned that they are already starting to formulate what could be Blanc’s next adventure, noting that his creativity has been revitalized after the making of Wake Up Dead Man.

“Creatively, I feel energized after doing this,” Johnson commented, adding that he sees no reason to stop if they have the opportunity to keep creating stories with the character.
Wake Up Dead Man, the third installment, focuses on a mysterious crime in a Catholic church in New York. The cast features well-known names, including Glenn Close, Jeremy Renner, Josh O’Connor, and Josh Brolin, who play priests in a moral dilemma. O’Connor, who portrays the young idealistic Father Jud Duplenticy, stated that he prepared for his role by consulting with a real priest. On the other hand, Brolin portrays Monsignor Jefferson Wicks, a character with a more cynical approach that reflects a significant internal conflict.
The film is set to premiere in theaters on November 26 and will be available on Netflix starting December 12. Meanwhile, franchise fans can look forward to the return of a character that has captured the audience’s attention and continue to anticipate new stories in the future.
