Disney Plus has released an extended teaser that offers a first look at the new season of the beloved animated series King of the Hill. This preview, which can be seen on the platform and lasts just over a minute, showcases key moments that hint at exciting plots and character development. Among the scenes, Bill is seen stacking burning books, and Bobby and Hank appear to be trapped in a cold room, suggesting comedic situations in the family dynamic.
King of the Hills returns with important changes
One of the most moving moments in the teaser is the image of Joseph Gribble riding a horse alongside his biological father, John Redcorn. This scene represents a milestone in the relationship between both characters, who have had a stagnant dynamic in the original series, as Joseph believed he was Dale Gribble’s adopted son. The series will finally explore the bond that the characters longed for.
However, the joy of the revival also comes with sadness, as two key actors have recently passed away. Jonathan Joss, the voice of John Redcorn, was murdered in an apparent hate crime, and Johnny Hardwick, who brought Dale Gribble to life, died of undetermined causes at the end of 2023. Although Joss had begun recording his lines for the new series, he is expected to receive a proper tribute for his work on the show. Toby Huss, another actor from the original series, will take on the role of Dale Gribble in the upcoming seasons.
The revival of King of the Hill is scheduled for at least two seasons, offering fans plenty of new content. The first ten episodes of the new season will premiere on Hulu on August 4, ensuring that the spiritual residents of Arlen, Texas, have a lot to look forward to.
