In an interesting twist on the creature collection game genre, Nara Studio has launched a Kickstarter campaign for its new title, Wonderful Neoran Valley.
This game combines RPG and roguelite elements, influenced by modern classics like Slay the Spire, and deviates from the typical creature capture mechanics, focusing on establishing dialogues with the beings that inhabit its universe.
A winning combination
To date, the campaign has raised over $800,000 far exceeding its original goal and unlocking additional objectives, such as an infinite mode and a version for the new Nintendo Switch 2.
With 18 days remaining in the campaign, it appears that the project is generating more and more interest among players.
Success on Kickstarter will allow Nara Studio to operate independently and full-time, without relying on a publisher. The studio’s creative director, Cydonia, is a well-known Pokémon streamer whose following and reputation have positively impacted the project’s visibility.
Among the peculiar characters we will find in Wonderful Neoran Valley are creatures like Pero, a pear-shaped entity, Owrion, a cosmic owl, and Noctivora, an enchanting lady with a unique style.
This focus on conversational interactions could set this game apart in a saturated market of Pokémon imitations, suggesting that Wonderful Neoran Valley may offer a fresh and unique experience.
