Bloober Team has made significant progress in its production line by confirming that the remake of Silent Hill 1 has moved into full production. In their recent session with investors, the Polish studio announced that one of its two internal teams will work exclusively on this iconic project, marking an important milestone in the resurgence of the famous horror series. Although no additional details or a release window were provided, it was emphasized that the pre-production phase has been abandoned and the team is already immersed in content creation.
It’s time for a remake of the first Silent Hill
This move strengthens Bloober Team’s position as a key contender in the horror genre, especially after the success of the Silent Hill 2 remake, which has been well received by fans and critics alike. Additionally, the studio has launched a new intellectual property, Cronos: The New Dawn, which sold over 200,000 copies in its first weekend, with PlayStation being its main market.
Rumors circulating in the community suggest that the team may be working on a DLC titled Born from a Wish for the remake of Silent Hill 2, which could be released around the first anniversary of the game, October 8, after the end of its exclusivity with PlayStation. Although these rumors have not been confirmed, fans of the series are eager.
In addition, Bloober Team has expanded its strategic vision, seeking to become a leader in the horror genre by reducing the time between releases and developing large-scale titles. In this regard, five projects in development have been announced, including one for Netflix known as Project N.
With a renewed focus and a clear growth strategy, Bloober Team positions itself not only to revive the nostalgia of Silent Hill, but also to leave an indelible mark on the video game industry.
