FromSoftware has set a closed network test for The Duskbloods from August 21 to August 24. Registration opens July 22 and stays open through July 28. The test is there to put the basics under stress: servers, matchmaking, online stability, and overall balance in the game’s eight-player PvPvE matches, where players are fighting each other while also dealing with AI enemies.
Miyazaki is directing it. And at a glance, The Duskbloods already feels like Bloodborne’s distant relative.
Players step into the shoes of the Bloodsworn, a vampire-like group chasing “First Blood” during the “Twilight of Humanity.” The maps blend Gothic, Victorian, and early modern design, and it also looks like the game will have more than a dozen playable characters, each with their own weapons, roles, and abilities.
It’s coming in 2026 as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, which has predictably split people online. You can see the appeal. Hidetaka Miyazaki’s name is attached, the visuals have that grim, haunted pull, and FromSoftware doesn’t exactly make games people ignore. But plenty of players are also frustrated to see a major new FromSoftware release locked to a single platform.
If you’re interested in The Duskbloods, the August test is the part to watch. A fast eight-player PvPvE game is only as good as its connection quality, balance, and how clearly it reads in motion. Players can sign up once registration opens, and the full release is still scheduled for Nintendo Switch 2.
