The new MacBook Pro is now official. After months of rumors about its touch display, Apple has unveiled one of the major Mac refreshes of recent years. With the M5 Pro and M5 Max chips, the new OLED display and a lighter design, we’re looking at a laptop that takes a very significant leap in the professional range. Let’s look at what’s new.
An excellent display you can now touch
The main new feature is the PROLED XDR display with tandem OLED technology that offers up to 2,000 nits of brightness, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and compatibility with P3 and Adobe RGB. More importantly, we can now scroll, enlarge images, and interact with it using our fingers, since the display is touch-enabled.
As for the display, the arrival of the Dynamic Island stands out, where we’ll be able to manage our calls, music, and live activities, in addition to being home to Spotlight and Siri AI.
More power, less weight, and the return of the illuminated Apple
The new 14- and 16-inch models are thinner and lighter, just as the rumors about their redesign had already suggested. What’s more, the iconic illuminated Apple logo returns to the lid after ten years of absence.
You can get up to 128GB of memory and up to 16TB of storage. The laptop comes with Thunderbolt 5, Wi-Fi 7, six improved speakers, and up to 24 hours of battery life.
Prices and availability
Pre-orders are already open and deliveries begin on November 6. Prices in Spain start at €3,349 for the 14-inch model and €3,949 for the 16-inch one. A refresh, without a doubt, really interesting for Apple’s pro laptop.
