The theory about the ending of One Piece that would make all the protagonists happy.

Currently, there is no doubt that One Piece is the most popular manga and anime. The series created by Eiichiro Oda has been the most read and watched in Japan for decades, but this phenomenon has grown enormously in recent years, thanks to the quality of its plots and even Netflix, which has turned this fiction into one of the few live-action anime adaptations worth watching.

However, it’s not that One Piece is trendy and something that will happen at some point; rather, it seems to be the opposite. Oda’s series is reaching its final stretch —although this could mean up to a whopping five years for its conclusion— and each passing chapter becomes more and more interesting. In fact, the latest one is one of the most spectacular we have ever seen, thanks to a revelation that has turned everything around. Be careful, because hot spoilers are coming up.

In chapter 1.113, the last one published by the author, scientist Vegapunk has activated a mechanism, automatically with his death, that reveals to the whole world his best-kept secret: what will happen to the world of One Piece in the future. In a panel that will mark a before and after in the series, Vegapunk drops the most important bombshell of all: “This world will sink into the sea!”

Although the revelation may seem strange, all One Piece fans (including myself, of course) were shocked when we read it: now everything made sense. It seems that Imu and the Gorosei have a big plan to sink the world’s islands into the sea, leaving only the Red Line afloat. And this is something that could have happened a long time ago, sinking a world that would be afloat.

All the protagonists of One Piece would fulfill their dream

This enormous revelation brings everything into perspective and, as user @writtingpanini has correctly pointed out on Twitter, it gives rise to a theory about the ending. A theory in which all the members of the Straw Hat crew would achieve their dreams simultaneously.

The first thing that Panini exposes in his theory are the personal dreams of each nakama of the Straw Hat Pirates, which are the following:

  • Luffy wants to be the king of the pirates.
  • Zoro wants to be the strongest swordsman in the world.
  • Nami wants to draw a map of the whole world.
  • Usopp wants to be recognized as a brave sea warrior.
  • Sanji wants to find the All Blue, a united sea where all species coexist.
  • Chopper wants to be the best doctor and cure all diseases.
  • Robin wants to know the true history of the world.
  • Franky wants the Sunny to be the best ship in the world and travel everywhere.
  • Brook wants to be reunited with Laboon.
  • Jinbe wants to find equality between fishmen and humans.

According to this theory, all dreams would be connected to be fulfilled at the same time. How? By refloating the world sunk by the villains of history in the Great Flood. Before that, all land territories were united in one continent: Pangea. And one sea: Panthalassa. Now, there are four seas united by a great land line called the Red Line. If they cut the Red Line and managed to refloat the world, everything would return to how it was before and many problems of the inhabitants of this planet would end forever.

And now let’s see how each pirate would achieve their dream with this phenomenon.

Let’s start with Sanji, who has it the easiest. He dreams of the All Blue, a completely united sea where all species of fish are related, a great feast for a cook. With the return of this ocean called Panthalassa, his dream would be fulfilled immediately.

Robin, upon discovering what would have happened to the Ancient Kingdom, would also fulfill her dream: she would learn the truth behind the world. And Nami would now not only have knowledge about all the islands in the world, but also about the actual territory of the planet to create her ultimate map.

Regarding Luffy and Zoro, their dreams are somewhat different, but functional in this case. By freeing the world from Imu, Luffy would become the freest person there is and, of course, the king of the pirates. And as for Zoro, he only needs to surpass Mihawk to become the most powerful swordsman. In fact, according to this theory, he could be the one to cut the Red Line to prove his worth.

The curious thing is that, with the union of all the seas, Laboon would be free again, so he could be reunited with Brook once more. And by reuniting the fish-men and humans, Jinbe would be close to fulfilling his dream. As for Usopp, he would be recognized by everyone as a warrior of the sea, leaving only Chopper to join this equation. However, along the way, they will have to overcome Imu’s obstacles, who will probably use diseases to end his victims, which will also help him fulfill his dream of being the greatest doctor that has ever existed
