Can’t access Twitter, can’t load tweets or won’t let you reply to anyone? Don’t worry, it’s not a problem with your mobile but with the social network itself. According to the website Down Detector, Twitter is down this morning, affecting accounts from all over the world.
Down Detector, which collects error reports issued by users themselves when a website fails to load correctly or experiences problems of some kind, shows that problems accessing Twitter started from 10.55am on March 1, reaching a peak at 11.40am.
The crash would prevent users from refreshing their timelines to see new tweets, reply to other people’s tweets, like, retweet or search for any content. At the moment, the nature of this crash is unknown, although it could be an occasional problem with the servers, as has happened on other occasions.
Problems that were “foreseen to come”
The problems at Twitter have not stopped surfacing since the arrival of Elon Musk. The billionaire has carried out a series of massive layoffs at the social network from the moment he took over, firing thousands of workers, including many heads of crucial departments for Twitter.
From temporary problems loading new tweets to errors in Twitter Trends, to the general impossibility of tweeting (with a message warning of having exceeded the daily limit of tweets), more and more incidents are being recorded on the platform.
With less than 2,000 employees worldwide and without most of the workers who knew the social network best, Twitter is now at a critical point in its existence, with the prospect that it may even go bankrupt or be sold to a large company.
