When Disney+ announced that sharing accounts with your family or friends is ending, many millions of users unsubscribed. And a few others subscribed. But, in general, public opinion changed regarding Disney+, a streaming service that has not quite hit the mark (although it has high-quality series).

Well, after announcing the end of the account sharing option, we now know the cost of adding an extra member to our account. That is, if we pay for Disney+ and our parents want to join us, we now know what they will have to pay to enjoy Disney+.

In an announcement made on Wednesday, Disney Plus has announced that adding an “extra member” to an ad-supported plan will cost $6.99 per month, and that price will rise to $9.99 for its ad-free plan.

The company claims that the additional member offer will allow you to share your subscription with a friend or family member who does not live in your household. This option only applies if you have a standalone Disney+ subscription (not the bundle with Hulu, ESPN Plus, and other services) and if Disney bills you directly and not through a third party.

The additional member also has some limitations. That member can only have one profile and can only stream and download on one device at a time. Disney also says that additional members “cannot have an active subscription to Hulu, or an active or canceled subscription to Disney+ or ESPN+”.

If you are watching Disney Plus while away from home, the service may display a message that says “This TV does not appear to be part of the Home for this account.” However, Disney says you can avoid this by marking yourself as away from home or updating your home. The add-on for additional members is now available for users in the U.S., Costa Rica, Guatemala, Europe, and the Asia-Pacific region.

Since Netflix made its foray last year, Disney has been hinting at the rollout of its own measures. And this is not the only thing: a price increase for the app is coming next month.
