Apple has released the first public beta of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS Golden Gate, watchOS 27 and tvOS 27, which means we can now try out all the new features without having to be developers. An excellent opportunity to try out the new Apple Intelligence features, the evolution of Siri AI, and the performance improvements that will make our devices much faster and more capable.
Siri AI and the new Apple Intelligence features
When we talk about what’s new in iOS 27 and the rest of the systems, Siri AI gets all the attention. The assistant is now capable of holding conversations, searching for information on the web, and accessing our emails, photos, or messages, among other things, to answer a question or help us with specific tasks. The new Siri app lets us interact with the assistant and access previous conversations in a way very similar to what ChatGPT or Claude do.
Add to that the Visual Intelligence feature, which is now in the camera and recognizes what’s in front of us to offer useful information, such as the nutritional value of a meal or the phone number of a business we’re standing in front of. The new Write with Siri feature, which drafts text, corrects our writing and adjusts the tone to match our style, as well as the performance improvements, the longer battery life, the new features in Safari, or the AI photo-editing tools also join the list of new features.
How to access the public beta
Installing the public beta is very easy. We just have to sign up on Apple’s beta page and, after that, go to Settings > General > Software Update to select the iOS 27 beta, or the beta for your device, and enjoy one of the biggest updates in years before anyone else.
