The Nintendo Switch 2 version of 007 First Light is now targeting later in summer 2026. IO Interactive says development is going “really good” while the team keeps optimizing 007 First Light and tightening up performance. There’s still no exact release date, but this doesn’t sound like a big setback.
According to IO Interactive, the 007 First Light Nintendo Switch 2 edition was delayed so it could hit the studio’s quality bar, not because anything changed with the game itself. So the Nintendo Switch 2 version should land not too long after the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC launch on May 27, 2026, rather than slipping far beyond that. If you’ve been waiting to play Bond on Switch 2, this still looks like one worth grabbing when it shows up.
The broader launch is already off to a strong start. IO Interactive says 007 First Light sold 2.7 million copies in its first week. The studio also says players jumped into 34 million missions, and around 30% of those runs ended in success.
One lighter stat stands out: IO Interactive says wine bottles made up 36% of all thrown items. The game tells a new origin story about a younger Bond earning his 00 status, mixing stealth, combat, and driving so it feels like more than just Hitman in a tux.
Reviews have been broadly positive, and IO Interactive has already laid out year-one support with new missions, extra gadgets, and a photo mode. You can play 007 First Light right now on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, and the Nintendo Switch 2 version is due later in summer 2026.
