After going to Paris and Rome to teach those Europeans how things are really done, the American way, Emily Cooper will be catching a flight back very soon, because Netflix has already announced that the upcoming season 6, which is currently being filmed, will bring her adventures to an end. However, she won’t leave without one more trip, as part of this final season will take place in Greece, among islands and ultra-touristy spots that, honestly, didn’t need to be made more ultra-touristy.
Emily in nowhere
Lily Collins herself has said goodbye to the fans in a video, stating that “season 6 will give you everything you love about the series and will serve as the final chapter in Emily’s adventure. Our entire cast and crew are giving their all to make this a fantastic farewell season. I can’t wait for you to see the magic we’ve created, and to celebrate our final season with you in the chicest way”. At least they have been able to have an ending, which is something that not all series from the company can say.
It should be noted that it doesn’t seem like Netflix has canceled it, because the previous seasons of Emily in Paris have been a worldwide success, remaining 32 weeks in the global top 10, reaching number 1 in 90 different countries. Could it be that they have nothing else to tell us, or that they simply feel the need to do something new?
Netflix cannot be happy, because two of its biggest hits, The Lincoln Lawyer and this one, have announced their farewell in the last two weeks, and they need another global phenomenon to stay afloat. With the departure of the Duffer brothers and Stranger Things, things get even more complicated. What will be the future of the company? It certainly doesn’t seem to be looking good in Paris.
