We already know when 'Emily in Paris' will end, and fans are not going to be happy

After going to Paris and Rome to teach those Europeans how things are really done, American style, Emily Cooper will catch a flight back very soon, because Netflix has already announced that the upcoming season 6, which is currently being filmed, will bring her adventures to an end. However, she won’t leave without one more trip, because part of this final season will take place in Greece, among islands and ultra-touristy spots that honestly didn’t need to be made more ultra-touristy. After going to Paris and Rome to teach those Europeans how things are really done, the American way, Emily Cooper will be catching a flight back very soon, because Netflix has already announced that the upcoming season 6, which is currently being filmed, will bring her adventures to an end. However, she won’t leave without one more trip, as part of this final season will take place in Greece, among islands and ultra-touristy spots that, honestly, didn’t need to be made more ultra-touristy.

Emily in nowhere

Lily Collins herself has said goodbye to the fans in a video, stating that “season 6 will give you everything you love about the series and will serve as the final chapter in Emily’s adventure. Our entire cast and crew are giving their all to make this a fantastic farewell season. I can’t wait for you to see the magic we’ve created, and to celebrate our final season with you in the chicest way”. At least they have been able to have an ending, which is something that not all series from the company can say.

It should be noted that it doesn’t seem like Netflix has canceled it, because the previous seasons of Emily in Paris have been a worldwide success, remaining 32 weeks in the global top 10, reaching number 1 in 90 different countries. Could it be that they have nothing else to tell us, or that they simply feel the need to do something new?

Netflix cannot be happy, because two of its biggest hits, The Lincoln Lawyer and this one, have announced their farewell in the last two weeks, and they need another global phenomenon to stay afloat. With the departure of the Duffer brothers and Stranger Things, things get even more complicated. What will be the future of the company? It certainly doesn’t seem to be looking good in Paris.

Netflix takes the final step to become the television of a lifetime and starts its daily linear schedule

When Netflix arrived in the homes of half the world, it came with a promise: this is no longer conventional television. This is something very different: you choose how, when, and in what way you are going to watch your favorite series, movies, and shows, without ads. And it looked very good, of course… until over time it stopped doing so. Plans with advertising started, the standardization of series, the risk decreased, and Netflix, like all streaming services, simply became a reboot of traditional television. When Netflix arrived in homes around the world, it came with a promise: this is no longer conventional television. This is something very different: you choose how, when, and in what way you will watch your favorite series, movies, and shows, without ads. And it looked very good, of course… until over time it stopped doing so. Advertising plans started, the standardization of series began, the risk decreased, and Netflix, like all streaming services, simply became a reboot of traditional television.

Connect at the same time, on the same channel

Now, Netflix has broken the last remaining barrier by airing a program that you can watch live daily at a specific time. Not as a special event, but as a program, perhaps the first of its (for now) fictional lineup: The Breakfast Club, a morning radio show hosted by Charlamagne Tha God which will start airing for 3 hours on the streamer from June 1st.

It doesn’t catch the most dedicated fans of the show by surprise, because Netflix has been uploading its complete shows since January 2026, when the team switched from YouTube to the highest bidder and stopped having free video episodes. Now, in addition to appearing after the broadcast, they will also be available to watch live… And it seems they won’t be the only ones: iHeartMedia and the streamer are determined to create a whole lineup of live podcasts, let’s see if it strikes a chord and becomes a phenomenon.

Clearly, Netflix is trying to please its entire audience, and with over 300 million subscribers worldwide, that’s a lot of people to please, so it will be experimenting here and there. If we’re lucky, the fear that it will be a “new old television” will be unfounded. If not, we will have traveled thousands of miles to return to square one.

'La casa de papel' is based on an incredible true story, but it didn't happen in Spain

Everyone knows Money Heist, and the fact is that when season 2 premiered in Spain, it had such poor ratings that they moved it to a different day, trying to fit it in somewhere. Luckily, Netflix came to the rescue and the rest, as we now know, is history. After 5 seasons and 2 of its prequel and spin-off Berlin, the streamer is not willing to let its gold mine rest, so it’s the perfect time to look back and see how such a huge international phenomenon was created. Everyone knows Money Heist, and the fact is that when season 2 premiered in Spain, it had such poor ratings that they moved it to a different day, trying to fit it in somewhere.

Fortunately, Netflix came to the rescue and the rest, as we now know, is history. After 5 seasons and 2 of its prequel and spin-off Berlin, the streamer is not willing to let go of its gold mine, so it’s the perfect time to look back and see how such a huge international phenomenon was created. Who knows, if you take notes, you might be the next successful creator for Netflix!

Robbery at Three

Initially, Money Heist was going to have a different tone and even a different title: Alex Pina, its creator, decided to call it The Foreclosed, because all the members of the gang would come from an absolutely desperate situation. Fortunately, he took note of improvements, changed the name, and the rest is history.

And in history, precisely, the series is based, although not Spanish. Specifically, it is based on an American criminal and on an Argentine robbery that bears very similar similarities to those of the Dalís.

Only there there was not a Professor, but a Master, a man with no criminal record who planned the Banco Río robbery in Acassuso from top to bottom on January 12, 2006. The gang consisted of just 6 people, who, with toy guns, entered, kidnapped everyone who was there, and waited to be surrounded by police. When they entered, 5 hours after the start of the heist, the team had already left: they stole 15 million dollars and escaped through a tunnel they had dug themselves and left in boats. Doesn’t it remind you a bit of the plan of a certain Professor?

Sadly, the end of this Robin Hood case was not happy: the wife of one of them betrayed them, and they spent five years in prison since they had not really harmed anyone. However, only one million was recovered, and the rest remains missing. This pacifist attitude is the same as that of our other protagonist, Willie Sutton, an outlaw from the last century who stole about two million dollars in total and managed to escape from prison three times without ever harming anyone.

He entered banks with a gun, but not for pleasure, rather because, as he stated, you can’t rob a bank just with charisma and personality. Moreover, he apparently never loaded his guns because he didn’t want to hurt anyone. The general public accepted him as a kind of gentleman or Robin Hood, and there were even rumors that he would withdraw from the heists if a woman screamed or a child started crying.

That said, he was much less gallant than the Dalís and even claimed that I robbed banks because I enjoyed it. I loved it. I was more alive when I was inside a bank, robbing it, than at any other moment in my life. I enjoyed it so much that one or two weeks later I was already looking for my next job. The money was just a bonus, nothing more.” Genius, character, and petty thief: How could he not serve as inspiration for the “ethical thieves” of Money Heist?

Netflix bids farewell to one of its best series in season 5. Fans have been left, of course, devastated

Six years ago, CBS started filming The Lincoln Lawyer. Everything was going well until, a month and a half after starting, Covid arrived and sent all the plans flying out the window, as happened with most productions. At that moment, the channel decided to drop it and Netflix, generously, picked it up hoping to pay less and have, at least, a filler series. That “filler series” has become one of the biggest successes in its history… until now. Case closed As the channel has announced, season 5 will be the last […]

That “filler series” has become one of the biggest successes in its history… until now.

Case closed

As announced by the channel, season 5 will be the last of The Lincoln Lawyer, to everyone’s surprise. At least, Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodríguez, the showrunners, have promised that it will be “the satisfying ending that Mickey Haller deserves.” Mickey Haller maybe, but what about the fans, who are left sad, desolate, and with one less reason to pay for Netflix every month?

The good part is that it hasn’t been an arbitrary cancellation by Netflix, but rather a decision made by the creators themselves, who have seen how the series was naturally coming to an end and wanted to provide a conclusion that wasn’t rushed. “It is, of course, bittersweet, but also an incredible opportunity to close this adventure and perhaps create a new path for some of our characters in the future. Did someone say spin-off in a couple of years?

The season will be based on the seventh novel in the saga, Resurrection Walk, but there is already one more published, The Proving Ground. What’s the good part about being left without a series? Maybe it’s time to spend the nights with a good book.

The most watched series of 2026 is from Netflix. I do this for a living, and it doesn't ring a bell

Which would you say has been the most-watched Netflix series so far this year? Stranger Things: Tales from ’85? Something terrible is about to happen? One Piece? None of that: as they have just revealed, with 25.6 million views according to Nielsen, the honor goes to Him and Her. If it doesn’t ring a bell, don’t worry, it’s normal: I talk about film and television, and perhaps because of the flood that comes every week, I had absolutely no idea about it. There is a bit of a catch, though, because the meter only rates the first three and a half months of the year, leaving Marshals (the new addition to the Yellowstone universe) in second place among all streaming services, closely followed with 25.24 million, followed by Landman, The Bridgertons, Tracker, and High Potential.

In total, in the top 20 we have only 3 Netflix series: the surprise winner is Paramount+, with half of the list, followed by Hulu (3 series) and HBO Max (2). The big loser is Amazon Prime Video, which has only managed to sneak Fallout into the 8th position. If you have been living under a rock (like I apparently have), you might be wondering what the hell He and She is and if you should start watching it immediately.

Based on the 2020 novel by Alice Feeney, He and She has brought together Tessa Thompson and Jon Bernthal in a mystery thriller where she is a crime journalist and he is a detective working on the same case she is investigating. There are only 6 episodes, so, with the year still ongoing… Don’t you want to be in the loop and see what everyone has already enjoyed? After all, there must be something about the water when it is blessed, right?

The Dalís are back! Netflix won't let go of 'Money Heist' and will have a new season soon

Oh bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao, ciao ciao… The song from 1943 was an anthem among the Italian partisans who fought against the Nazi German forces and for seven decades it was an antifascist anthem. Until 2017 when La Casa de Papel arrived and forever changed its meaning: instead of fighting against fascists, it would now be the official song of the Professor, the Dalís, and the greatest heist ever told. And of course, it doesn’t look like it’s going to stop anytime soon. Are you ready, Professor? After nine years, anyone could believe that Netflix was wrapping up La […]

Are you ready, Professor?

After nine years, anyone could believe that Netflix was wrapping up Money Heist after the monumental success of its series and its spin-off, Berlin. However, at its presentation in Seville, the streamer had a little surprise up its sleeve: the story will continue in ways we can’t even understand yet.

As the trailer says, first came the money. Then came the gold. But the revolution is not over. “The next step has already been taken”, they announced, hinting that the next project from Alex Pina and his team is on the way. In fact, they posted an image on Instagram showing the Professor again, and since he survived the last episode of the series, it is most likely that he will be up to his usual tricks again.

No one knows if this means a new sequel, a spin-off, or just an extra episode, but for now we will stay tuned, because when Netflix sinks its fangs into something, it usually doesn’t let go, no matter how much it disguises capitalism as revolution.
