A PC cooled with human blood? It exists, but it demands a sacrifice to the Devil first
Although PCs with liquid cooling are already a common occurrence, it is not so common that the liquid they cool with is human blood.
Anyone who has seen the size of the most advanced graphics cards on the market knows that liquid cooling is necessary unless you enjoy having stoves or unintentional fires. That’s the reality. The level of potential and energy consumption of our PCs has reached unsustainable levels for common fans if we want to maintain reasonable sizes. But what we never expected is that liquid cooling could lead us to a situation where we could use our own blood to prevent our computer from overheating.
That’s the case with Blizzard’s latest campaign for Diablo IV. Anticipating the release of the game’s new season, Blood Harvest, they have decided to collect blood from all their fans. Specifically, they aim to collect 666 quarts of blood, which is approximately 630 liters of precious life-giving liquid.
But why? Basically, to create a computer with a liquid cooling system that uses real human blood. According to their website, the specifications of this computer are quite impressive. It features an Intel Core i9-13900K, 64GB of DDR5 RAM, a 3TB Gen5 NVMe M.2 SSD, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090. Additionally, the computer is designed in a black and red color palette inspired by Diablo, complete with Season of Blood graphics.
Everyone who donates blood from now until November 20th at 11:59 PM, or until those 666 quarts of blood are collected, will be entered into the draw. And just for participating, all donors will receive in-game prizes in Diablo IV. However, you have to be in the USA to participate. Diablo has chosen to acknowledge only his American followers on this occasion.
