A study shows that there are millions of workers who are asking for more AI in their jobs

We are always demonizing artificial intelligence because of those evil companies that lay off workers because, according to them, an AI can do their job more efficiently and cheaply. But it’s not always like that, many other times it is the employees who benefit from AI to make their work more pleasant.

A new report from Freshworks highlights the integration of AI in sectors such as customer service, finance, human resources, marketing, and sales, where it can increase productivity by assisting with repetitive and administrative tasks.

Specifically, almost half (45%) of the respondents stated that they would consider leaving their jobs for others that offered more artificial intelligence.

Workers want more AI, not for AI to take their jobs

When ChatGPT was launched just over two years ago, there was widespread reluctance among workers, as many feared that AI would replace human workers; however, the Freshworks study now reveals that workers are asking for more AI tools to help them do their jobs.

More than that, AI seems to have shifted from being a convenience to a necessity: more than one in three (37%) say they could never keep up with their workload without the help of artificial intelligence.

Workers are increasingly using AI, sometimes secretly because they worry about job loss or prohibitions.

This has parallels in universities.

It’s an important caution for those issuing blanket bans – which may be ineffective.

Bosses also recognize the advantages of productivity: one third (35%) of British employees claim to have received promotions or salary increases thanks to the use of AI tools.

Freshworks has also observed and quantified this change in attitude: half of the employees surveyed stated that their opinions on AI have improved just since the first half of this year, with a better understanding of the technology (53%) and its increasing usefulness (46%), contributing to a more positive image of AI.

An overwhelming majority (98%) is now reclaiming significant time, which is freeing up resources to be more productive (72%), engage in creative tasks (62%), and mentor colleagues (64%), and three out of five (61%) global leaders have increased AI adoption in the last six months and nearly the same number (54%) will continue to do so in 2025.
